2024 MS Gong Ride

Fundraising Rank: 641

I'M RIDING 60KM THIS OCTOBER
TO FIGHT MS

I'm taking the Challenge to fight MS!

This November, I am taking part in the 2024 MS Gong Ride!

Since 1981, this iconic ride has raised funds to help fight MS and I'm now part of this incredible legacy.

Why am I fundraising?

It’s quite staggering to think that multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other chronic neurological condition. The average age of diagnosis is 30 years, and there is no known cure.

Every person’s MS varies, but some of the symptoms are not being able to see properly (or at all), loss of balance, ability to walk, pins and needles, and chronic pain.

Your support will help people with multiple sclerosis receive the vital support, treatments, and services to help them live well at home, remain connected to work, and be part of the community.

Thank you again for your support!

Finished!!

Monday 4th Nov
Mission accomplished in about 3.5 hours.
Had a blast  thank you to my sponsors.
Thank you for your support of a good cause.
Picture taken outside the National Park at about the half way mark - first time you see the sea. Exhilarating.
Funny that I couldn't keep my eyes open :-D

The daily commute continues

Friday 25th Oct
Vastly enjoying the daily commute, especially the cool mornings and breezy afternoons.
I rode to the top of Cometrowe Street this morning, second time lucky on the new bike.
I reckon I can achieve the 54km ride in just over a week. Keep wishing me luck and feel free to sponsor me - just $5 would make a difference to the overall pot.

First big training ride - completed

Monday 14th Oct
32km of inner west adventures on a sunny Sunday.  99 bikes in Stanmore have fantastic service and after sales support. My new bike is a dream.
The gears worked perfectly as I attempted to climb Cometrowe Street in Drummoyne this morning.
It was hard work - 'nuff said.

The Pyrenees

Tuesday 8th Oct
I did ride across the Pyrenees (on an e-bike) - see the picture - it gave me courage and prompted the challenge.
But I don't live life with MS - so get your hand in your pocket and help with the fight.

Can she do it?

Tuesday 8th Oct
Fresh from a triumphant ride from Marseille to Barcelona - I thought I'd 'get a real bike' and take on the challenge of riding to Wollongong to both challenge myself and raise money to fight MS.
Here's the 'real bike' that I'm riding to Wollongong.
Send me your best wishes and issue kindness to the universe on that day - but better still - donate a few dollars to fight MS.
