Riding for our teammate Steven!

Team Gong Ballistic are back for another year of riding in the 2024 MS Gong Ride!

So grateful to have both past and new team members who want to ride with our team. It is so special and humbling to see so many people wanting to support and challenge themselves to fundraise for people with MS like my brother Steven.

My brother Steven was diagnosed with MS when he was 21. Imagine waking up one morning and you cant see out of your left eye, you cant feel the difference between hot and cold water and your paralysed from the waist down....this happened to my brother. As a sister having to watch your athletic, happy go lucky brother go from playing and exceling in every sport in the sun to not being able to move or walk was very hard and overwhelming for all of us.

Steven is a very private, proud and stoic man who finds it very difficult to open up about his journey with MS. He rarely accepts help, he is very stubborn and will literally tell you off if he you fuss over him.

However, he is the most resilient, courageous and positive person you will ever meet. He defies all odds and is always there for everyone where it counts. He is my hero and this is why I started team Gong Ballistic and fundraising for people like him.

This year marks 15 years on the inception of the team. It was back in 2009 when i did my first Gong Ride (the 60km ride) and that was alongside Steven and also my other brother Manuel.

To date as a team we have fundraised over half a million dollars for people with MS. This shows how loved we are by our community and how they want to support us so we can in turn support people with MS.

Big shout out must have to go to our jersey sponsors who are continually supporting us year after year and for making us look like we are professional cyclists :)

I'm really honoured to lead this group of riders who share my passion in fundraising and in wanting to make a difference in someone's life who is affected by MS.

Your support will help people with multiple sclerosis receive the vital support, treatments, and services to help them live well at home, remain connected to work, and be part of the community.
