the West Region Delivery Team Cycle Club

Back again for their third year, the West Region Delivery Team Cycling Club (WRDT CC) is ready to take on the Gong Ride to fight multiple sclerosis in 2024.
The WRDT CC are a group of amateur cyclists all working together on the West Region Delivery Team. The club was formed in late 2020 by employees who shared an interest in cycling and began riding together in the morning before work.
Over the years the club has grown, both in members and in their passion for riding, soon some members started tackling cycling events and overnight bike packing trips across NSW. Participating in the MS Gong Ride soon became a challenge the club was eager to take on and they signed up for their first MS Gong Ride in 2021. Excited by not just the beautiful and iconic ride, but also the opportunity to raise funds for Australians living with MS.
What we love about the MS Gong ride is that it enables us to combine our passion for cycling on one of the most picturesque routes with the opportunity to make a difference in the community by supporting MS Plus.”
Along with riding in their own time, the WRDT CC regularly performs training rides around Sydney so they can all prepare together. The club includes riders of varying levels, with some members riding over 130km a week!
The WRDT CC are also focused on fundraising. Being able to make a difference in the lives of people living with MS is a big reason the club continues to come back year after year. To fellow or future riders, the WRDT CC have this message:

Train together and fundraise together, the club have found the most success by reaching out to business partners to sponsor their efforts. Jumping from height to height, in 2021 they raised $11,000 and are now already over $50,000 with the 2024 Gong Ride still weeks away.
Each member leaves no stone left unturned, here are some of their methods for fundraising success:
We have employed multiple strategies including fundraising BBQs and raffles, social media posts, and our most successful of strategies to date being the selling of sponsorship space to our delivery partners on a jersey specifically designed for the event.”
With the 2024 MS Gong Ride fast approaching, excitement for another ride along the beautiful course is building. When asked what the WRDT CC is looking forward to the most, they cannot wait for a day together with their club with some hopefully beautiful weather.
We are looking forward to an enjoyable day out as a team, and hopefully perfect weather conditions so that we can experience the breathtaking scenery. The closed road event provides a breathtaking backdrop; from the foreshore of Botany Bay, through the Royal National Park and bursting out to the Wollongong escarpment and the decent down into Wollongong.”
